Set on the seedy sidestreets of 19th century London, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the tale of an unjustly exiled barber’s quest to avenge the wrongs done to him and his family by a lecherous judge. Aided by the romantically inclined and conniving pie shop proprietress, Mrs. Lovett, the demon barber of Fleet Street exacts his sweet, razor sharp revenge. Generally regarded as Stephen Sondheim’s most beautiful and ingeniously crafted score, this suspenseful musical explores love, loss, and revenge with brilliant wit, diabolical humor, and astonishing music. The two-act musical thriller runs approximately 2.5 hours and includes one intermission.
