Teen Community Service: Plarn
Do you need community service hours or just want to help out in the community? You can make plarn (plastic yarn) for the non-profit organization Macomb Feeding the Need and get credit for volunteering at that organization. The materials you will need to complete plarn at home for this virtual event include at least 20 plastic grocery bags and scissors. We will email the instructions for making plarn and teens will get one hour of community service for each plarn ball made during this virtual event. You’ll be notified by email close to the date of the event with instructions on how to drop off the completed plarn at the library. Teen participants must have a valid Roseville library card in good standing in their name to register for this program. We are waiving the requirement of submitting a completed volunteer application as long as teen community service is being offered virtually during the pandemic. This event is for teens in grades 6 through 12 and registration is required.
