If you're new to D&D, try D&D Beyond for some basic info. Or just stumble in, and the DM will teach you on the fly. It may sting a bit, but you'll survive! Probably!
The dice ARE trying to kill you! Every first and third Tuesday of the month, at any rate.
Snacks provided, because duh, of course they are.
