The New Librarians in Concert

The New Librarians are curators of the coolest music on the planet—a Metro Detroit/Lansing–area band bringing Jump Blues, early R&B, and vintage Swing back to the heart of the community, performed by a well‑seasoned lineup of drums, guitar, bass, and saxophone.  

Inspired by artists like Louis Jordan (Caledonia) and Big Joe Turner (Shake Rattle and Roll), our music swings, grooves, and gets toes tapping.  The New Librarians' upbeat, family-friendly shows are a great fit for library audiences, and libraries appreciate that they're volume-appropriate, flexible for seated or light dance-friendly events, and happy to share engaging backgrounds on American Jump Blues, early R&B, and Swing.
