Three Great Jewish Composers and the Great American Songbook

Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Harold Arlen wrote some of the most enduring songs of the 20th Century. From Berlin’s 1911 Alexander’s Ragtime Band and forward, these three great composers produced music that has lasted well over 100 years. Their music is still as relevant today as it was then due to its adaptability to all styles and formats of music. Listen to some of their greatest hits.  Presented by Stuart Johnson, music historian.
