Walk the Rail Trail

Take a brisk walk (at your own pace) along the Joseph B. Clark Rail Trail behind the library to Greenbush Road, near the Orangeburg Library. Meets in the lobby of the Blauvelt Free Library at 11:00 am (formerly 10:00 am) every Friday -- weather permitting.

When the weather is questionable, check in at 845 359-2811 or go to our Facebook page to see if we're walking.

We call this "Judge Blauvelt's Walking Club" in honor of our building's most famous resident, Cornelius Isaac Blauvelt (b. 1769), an Orangetown Judge who was also a railroad fan. As the story goes, Judge Blauvelt was able to coax the Erie Railroad to lay their west shore tracks directly in front of his home, which he enlarged in the 1840's with the building seen today.
