The Board of Trustees of the Wellsville Carnegie Public Library, working with the staff of the Library, affirm the following statement of purpose:

To serve all people;

To provide a variety of materials, services, and programs for everyone's informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs;

To provide a qualified staff to give guidance in the use of materials;

To inform the public of resources and service;

To initiate a leadership role in the community's intellectual, cultural, and educational services and

To support intellectual freedom for all.
