Wild Mushroom Identification

Join us for an introduction to identifying the wild mushrooms of Michigan. Chris Swinson, state-certified wild mushroom expert and owner of Mycophile's Garden, will discuss the best books, websites, and other resources for learning to safely, and confidently, identify many of the most common, and easily recognized edible and toxic mushrooms that grow in our state. Chris will also share how to use these resources easily and accurately; as well as tips on where, when, and how to find certain species.
