Have you ever wondered how many migratory birds fly over DeKalb each season? To find out, the ‘Wings Over the Windy City’ project has set up infrared cameras and special sound recorders all over the Chicago area--from the roof of the library to the top of the Willis Tower-- to track the millions of birds that migrate through the region each spring and fall. Learn about this unique project and what it means for birds and bird-lovers everywhere.
‘Wings Over the Windy City’ is a collaboration among many organizations, including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the #citybirds collaborative, and Openlands.
This program is free and intended for adults and seniors. No registration is required.
