Justin Bean's acrylic paintings engage abstract systems of pattern, reflection, and repetition as a means of holding and interrogating his subjective experience of the present moment.


Drawing on the history of analytic geometric abstraction, Bean's paintings feature intuitive, vibrant colors paired with architectural precision. Against a social backdrop of division, exclusion, and instability, his paintings reach toward a state of harmonic multiplicity.
