Lake Orion, MI
The historic Village of Lake Orion is located in Oakland County, Southeast Michigan, U.S. and has a population of 2,973. The area was first settled by Judah Church and Moses “Samuel” Munson in the 1820s. The former amusement park and beaches of Park Island helped the village gain traction as a resort town. Today, it is mainly a bedroom community. The village is known for its dragon which originated from a prank in which some children constructed a fake dragon and launched it into Lake Orion. Top attractions in Lake Orion include Canterbury Village, Orion Marine Pontoon Rentals & Historical Boat Tours, and Pedal Boat Pub. Some fun events include Dragon on the Lake, Lake Orion Flower Fair, and Lake Orion Jubilee.
