Lathrup Village is located in Oakland County, Southeast Michigan. It has a population of over 4,000 people. The village is surrounded by the city of Southfield. It was originally known as Lathrup Townsite and was developed by Louise Lathrup Kelley as a controlled community. The village is a certified redevelopment ready community by the MEDC.
